Rant: One Plug for Everything

Charlie White of Gizmodo writes an excellent rant on the staggering array of cables, plugs, and jacks that exist to do the same kinds of things - and an impassioned plea for electronics manufacturers to find a way to make One Plug for Everything. He also sketches out some excellent criteria for this uber-cable: "It needs to be small, it needs to have tremendous bandwidth, and it needs to be smart enough to not ruin anything you plug it into."
